چکیده مقاله:
This study conducted in dry climatic condition of Yazd provinces, Iran with two species of Borage (Borago officinalis L. and Echium amoenum Fisch & C.A. Mey.) and three levels of irrigation salinity including 2, 5 and 8 dS.m-1 during 2018-19. The experiment was arranged as RCB in split plot design (salinity as main plots and species as sub plots) with three replications. A germination test conducted with different levels of salinity including tap water as control and 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 dS.m-1. Results showed that all measurements such as plant height, dry and wet yields of organs was affected by salinity. Species treatment was significant in all measurements except dry leaf weight and interactions of salinity × species was significant in all except stem wet yield. The B.officinalis had higher wet yields of leaf and stem due to higher absorption of water and storage of water in leaves and stems, but E.amoenum had higher dry yields in all organs. Otherwise E. amoenum had much more yields in flower head and flower in both conditions.
