چکیده مقاله:
Regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) seems to be a promising measure for optimization of crop yield and irrigation requirement. To evaluate the effects of different RDI scenarios on yield and water productivity of quinoa under saline conditions, the SWAP model was calibrated based on the results of field experiments. The calibrated model was then subjected to successive levels of RDI at irrigation water salinities of 10 and 20 dS/m. RDI treatments included irrigation scheduling based on decreased relative transpiration and different matric potential at 50 cm root depth. The results were compared with pre-defined schedules with same salinities. Simulation results showed significant decrease in irrigation requirement and improve in water productivity (WP) for SWAP scheduled compared with defined schedule. The best RDI approach for improving WP at both salinity levels was irrigation at 60% relative transpiration. This treatment led to quinoa grain yields of 2215 and 1910 Kg/ha at irrigation salinities of 10 and 20 dS/m respectively.
